{"id":91,"date":"2010-07-29T11:52:54","date_gmt":"2010-07-29T18:52:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.webinarcrusher.com\/blog\/should-i-offer-a-discount-live-on-the-call"},"modified":"2010-06-02T15:17:25","modified_gmt":"2010-06-02T22:17:25","slug":"should-i-offer-a-discount-live-on-the-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.webinarcrusher.com\/blog\/should-i-offer-a-discount-live-on-the-call\/","title":{"rendered":"Should I Offer A Discount Live On The Call?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you have attended many webinars or live web training sessions by many marketers, they tend to give discounts as a way of presenting special offers.\u00a0 Is it a good idea to offer a discount of your product or membership site on a live webinar in order to get more sales?<\/p>\n<p>You can provide bonus or early-bird specials, but don\u2019t get them used to discounts instead get them used to buying while the price is still low.\u00a0 Cutting your price is one of the laziest marketing tactics you could ever try, because all it requires is you edit your shopping cart and change a single number.<\/p>\n<p>You can be more creative than that.\u00a0 I don\u2019t like to cut my prices because usually people are willing to pay the slightly higher price.\u00a0 I just have to push them a lot more to get it done.\u00a0 Maybe you just need one extra bonus to push people over the edge, such as an extra webinar or live Q&amp;A call.\u00a0 Maybe you need to record a bonus video and this could even be a simple 5-minute video tackling a common objection.<\/p>\n<p>The one exception to cutting your price is if your product or service is brand new and you want to offer an early-bird special where the price is temporarily cut.\u00a0\u00a0 But in the future forever, once you are established, the price will be increased.<br \/>\nWhy don\u2019t you want to discount everything?\u00a0 If you do your subscribers and your webinar attendees will get used to you offering discounts.\u00a0 They won\u2019t buy unless you discount.\u00a0 They won\u2019t buy unless your price is discounted so much it is barely worth your time and effort.<\/p>\n<p>People do get trained to respond to certain prices.\u00a0 People should be responding to your high prices in buying, not your low prices.\u00a0 If you discount your prices too much, you will find that your subscribers only buy from you if you are running a sale.\u00a0 Not on a consistent basis.\u00a0 You want to get them used to buying while the price is still low.\u00a0 They should not be waiting for the price to drop, your price should never drop.\u00a0 Your price should begin low and only increase the longer it is in the market place.<\/p>\n<p>This way when you launch something new, your buyers will jump on it and buy it and not wait around for the discount.<br \/>\nThat is why you really shouldn\u2019t offer a discount live on the call.\u00a0 Instead, give people a bonus or an early-bird special, that\u2019s it.\u00a0 Don\u2019t get them used to discounts instead get them used to buying while your price is still low.<\/p>\n<p>Go ahead right now and run a pitch webinar to promote any of your new or existing products at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.webinarcrusher.com\">www.webinarcrusher.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have attended many webinars or live web training sessions by many marketers, they tend to give discounts as a way of presenting special offers.\u00a0 Is it a good idea to offer a discount of your product or membership site on a live webinar in order to get more sales?
